Aritar, located in the Rongli Sub-Division of East Sikkim, is a hidden gem known for its pristine natural beauty and serene landscapes. Bordered by the towering Mt. Kanchenjunga, this secluded region is enveloped by lush forests, rolling hills, and meandering rivers. Aritar is home to traditional villages, ancient monasteries like Lingsay, and the historic British-built Dak Bungalow from 1895, located just half a kilometer below the iconic Aritar Lake.

Lampokhari (Aritar Lake)

One of Sikkim's oldest natural lakes, Lampokhari sits at 4,600 ft (1,400 m) and is the only lake in Sikkim offering boating facilities. A perfect spot for a serene paddle amidst stunning surroundings.

Dak Bungalow (Ari-Bangla)

Built in 1895 by Sir James Claude White, the first political officer of Sikkim during British rule, this historic bungalow is a testament to the region's colonial past. The site also housed Sikkim's first treasury and police outpost, established in 1897.

Aritar Gumpa
